A while ago I discussed the news reports about discovery by his heirs after the death in 2007 of 78-year-old John Sisto in his Berwyn home of considerable amounts of
Italian antiques and other materials estimated to be worth up to $10 million. More than 1,500 of these pieces were deemed to be stolen from Italy and Italian authorities reclaimed those items. After investigation however another 2,000 (mostly 18th century books, maps and engravings) were returned to the Sisto family and
are now going up for public auction.
