Egypt: Minister of Antiquities Discusses Looting on TV

The Egyptian Minister of antiquities appeared on TV to discuss the looting that is taking place there with the breakdown of law and order in the provinces. There is a rough translation here. Here is a fragment (as written, except one of the place names edited):

I have three places that have looting taking place: El Hibeh, Ihnasya [el-Medinah] and Lahun. There is no security. There are guards and educated guards that are armed but they cannot compete with the arms of the robbers. We are cautious because they are a mafia. They prevent us from going to Wadi El Gadid (western oases). I worry about my people going because of lack of security. Tarke El Mehdy, a policeman who went to face the armed men, was faced with hundreds of looters. We should make a statue for him as he took courage to do so.
Here are the three places mentioned, all near Beni Suef, El Hibeh in the south, Lahun in the north, Ehnasya (Henen-Nisut, Heracleopolis Magna) in the middle:
