Artefact Hunters Loot Archaeological Site in Kentucky

An archaeological survey in advance of pipeline construction in Hardin County udiscovered an ancient burial site. The landowner and authorities were notified and the proposed route of the pipeline was diverted to preserve the site. Unfortunately this did not have the desired effect. Less than a week after the site was reported looters struck and destroyed the site in a hunt for collectable artefacts.
