Heritage and Heritage: Spot the Difference

Heritage Action in Britain are a grassroots organization which raises concerns and tries to initiate action in the preservation of the cultural heritage of their country ("Ordinary People Caring for Extraordinary Places", UK · heritageaction.org.uk). They have a problem that there is at least one other group that has the same name, and followers of the latter without checking it out, frequently confuse the two, as they recently tweeted:
Educating Americans in the difference between and - one Twit at a time :-(
The "other" Heritage_Action is "the activist organization affiliated with @heritage" ("we have government relations team in DC and conservative activists across the USA"). Instead of the UK Heritage Action's megalith, their twitter account has a dark grey banner with an eagle out hunting for something to attack.

And who are the latter-named group? Well, it turns out they are a particular type of Washington Americans:
"A think tank devoted to the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense".
Poles apart.

  1. Thanks for the clarification Paul. Some of the comments aimed at (the USA) HA account aren't always that complimentary. It's annoying when the (irrelevant) insults turn up in our feed.
