Focus on Metal Detecting: A Reviewer Gets the Point

'Samantha Sutton and the Winter of the Warrior Queen' is a book written for young people, but it's getting the message across where it matters. There is a lot to be said for cultivating a young generation sensitive to the conservation needs for the preservation of the historical environment as much as the natural one. If the PAS is not getting the message out, then let it be other media. A reviewer has picked up a salient point of 'The Winter of the Warrior Queen'. The Kirkus review states:
"the archaeologist-author describes field research in loving detail, contrasting the careful work of scientists with the depredations of treasure hunters with metal detectors."
Good. Let's hope others see the point made.
