PAS Meltdown (7): Spoken too soon


Over on a metal detecting blog, in rep[ly to comments about changes in the Portable Antiquities Scheme, an uncouth and insulting metal detector is heard to exclaim
There’s no way the UK government is going to throw away such a brilliant scheme 
Look again, they did, they left it at the tender mercies of a deputy director of the British Museum, who dismembered and castrated it. They just threw it away, and their "partnership" with metal detectorists among their other volunteers has lost its shine.
