Aggressors and Facilitators in UK Metal Detecting

Lemme see the man who dares
Stop me.
Taking what I may
He can start to say his prayers!

Sam Hardy ('Archaeologists, concerned citizens and their families are harassed and threatened by metal detectorists in the UK') discusses a growing problem. Threatening (and endangering) behaviour is a feature of the heritage “debate” everywhere, even in the UK. Sam names names, shockingly one of the persons mentioned
is currently a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. Such behaviour is surely a violation of the Society’s values. It certainly does not ‘promote the honour… of the Society’.
This is significant because it is the collectors in their black propaganda who accuse archaeologists and heritage activists of "wanting to control the debate". They however, instead of reasoned arguments and exposing malpractice strive to do so by intimidation. They should not be allowed to get away with it.
