Mike Nevell has a new blog updating the situation on the proposed Lancashire museum and archaeology cuts. There is a petition to sign too. This kind of thing means that the future of a PAS based on "local partners" footing the bill is looking increasingly unstable and I reckon it is time to start preparing ourselves to answer the question: what comes after the Portable Antiquities Scheme? That leads on to the question whether what the PAS has being doing with public money for two decades has adequately prepared the ground for that situation? I'd say the answer is no. So what are we going to do about that?

Lancashire Cuts
