Egypt police arrest gang trafficking in artefacts in Cairo

Egypt police arrest gang trafficking in artefacts in Cairo, recover 193 statues and a sarcophagus Ahram Online - Saturday 5 Oct 2019
No doubt would appear on market as 'from an old collection'
Egypt's security forces uncovered a gang consisting of 22 criminals illegally working in archaeological excavation near the archaeological sites in Giza. The criminals had discovered a Pharaonic cemetery dating back to the Fourth Dynasty, and excavated some of its artefacts. Police forces arrested four of the criminals in possession of 193 statues and a large sarcophagus. Police notified the General Prosecution and the Ministry of Antiquities.
The coffin pictured is not 'fourth dynasty', and neither would be the shabtis, if that is what they are.
