The University of Glasgow Department of Archaeology has a weekly series of seminars, which take place weekly on Wednesdays at 4pm in the Lecture Theatre (Room 109), Gregory Building (Department of Archaeology), University of Glasgow, Lilybank Gardens, Glasgow, G12 8QQ. On Wednesday 28th November at 4pm, there will be an opportunity to attend one discussing the ongoing research of the "Trafficking Culture" project.
Simon Mackenzie and Suzie Thomas will be talking about ‘The illicit antiquities trade as a global criminal market’. Other members of the Trafficking Culture project will also be on hand, ensuring that those attending have ample opportunity to ask the team a range of questions. These seminars are open to the public and all (metal detectorists and coin dealers too) are welcome to attend. There is no charge for attendance, and pre-booking is not required. I have a request, could someone who attends please send a comment to this post explaining what was said? I've been racking my brains about that title all day: "The illicit antiquities trade as a global criminal market". I cannot say that I myself have ever considered it to be anything else. Or am I missing something here? Who says it is not? Anyway, good to see some possibilities for interaction and getting a few questions answered.
