According to the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey has announced "Coin Dealer Formerly from Hackensack Indicted on Federal Tax Charges" April 2nd 2013. The present charges refer to alleged tax evasion before the dealer moved to Chicago:
Gantcho Zagorski, 59, formerly a resident of Hackensack, New Jersey, [...] owned and operated a business that sold ancient coins to domestic and international customers, primarily on eBay, from his residence in Hackensack. Zagorski, along with his wife and, at times, his daughter, operated the coin-selling business under the names Diana Coins, Paganecoins, and Diana Coins LLC. [...] The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. As David Gill has already remarked it will be interesting to see what else emerges from this case. Coiney lobbyist Peter Tompa observes:
I'm sure you and your friends Messrs. Barford, St. Hilaire and Elkins are unhappy that the charges do not appear to relate to "stolen coins" from Bulgaria [...] Of course, something else might come up, but for now the Government does not have that much to show for its efforts-- yet again.Who knows?
