Perhaps this will be an encouragement to consigners to make sure the collecting histories they supply have been verified and contain all the relevant information, rather than relying on the usual "can't-prove-nuffing-you've-got-nuffing-on-me" (ie playing the innocent) approach of most antiquities sellers. It is up to the seller to prove that the goods they are supplying to the market are indeed free of any encumbrance, legal or otherwise, to their use and circulation.
