In the Russian-occupied territory of Abkhazia (NW Georgia), a museum with thousands of paintings has completely burned down. The art gallery in Sukhum caught fire last night. More than four thousand paintings were burned: the entire picture collection was destroyed.
According to one version, the cause of the fire could have been a faulty wiring. The burning down of an art gallery with thousands of paintings represents a tragic loss of irreplaceable cultural heritage.
