On Sunday, the 6th of May, thieves broke into the Gorny & Mosch gallery in Munich and stole about 40 coins. One wonders where such a disparate collection of items was kept together and indeed where some of these items had come from. No mention is made whether the files containing the documentation of their collecting histories and original exportation were taken too, so we can assume they were not. When offered coins of the types on the list (published online with fuzzy photos in Coin World), coin dealers and collectors should look very carefully at them. Of course if they habitually buy only coins with secure and verifiable paperwork showing they come from legitimate sources they need not bother.

Gorny and Mosche Lost Some Stock
