The hedges of Leutwitz here are covered with white blossoms as spring manifests itself, the first butterflies are stirring, the birds singing. Readers might remember Cleveland Museum announcing that they would be holding a conference "in the spring" about the publication of their "Praxiteles" booklet setting out the information they had about that ancient statue soldered onto a modern base they bought. Has anyone heard any more about this ? Cleveland were among the many people following very closely the series of posts I made here last year about this artefact and the huge holes and contradictions in the story of its supposed collecting history. It is not unreasonable to expect that they will be addressing these issues in the promised meeting. So when is it?

New on the Leutwitz Apollo?
