In one of the latest impotent coin-rage rants to emerge from the US coin collecting community, Richard Giedroyć ('Greece flaunts repatriated ancient coins', World Coin News October 06, 2014) urges the US not to return stolen cultural property to the Islamic State
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has recently destroyed Mosul’s Mosque of Younis (Jonah’s tomb), the Shia Saad bin aqeel Husseiniya Shrine, and the al-Qubba Husseiniya Mosque, all under the excuse these cultural heritage sites violate their religious beliefs. Since coins on which images appear were forbidden in past Islamic caliphates ,modern coins in the possession of ISIS are likely in danger of being destroyed. So much for ISIS’ appreciation of cultural heritage. So there. He also has a go at the journalists and translators of 'Romania Insider', the entire "bankrupt, modern nation state of Greece" and assorted other good folk.
