Police in Patissia, near central Athens, on Tuesday detained a 46-year-old man alleged to have been planning to sell ancient artifacts in the area. A total of 16 artifacts were recovered from the home of the suspect, an Albanian national who is said to work in the construction sector. Eight of the pieces are described as Hellenistic Era (323-31 BC) amphorae and statues, while the other eight are believed to be ancient Peruvian.
