NCMD and their Counter

In fact, in accordance with the below, one might legitimately ask something:

"The National Council for Metal Detecting is a representative body of elected volunteers formed in 1981 to provide a means whereby responsible metal detector users would have a democratic forum to discuss problems affecting the hobby and to provide an authoritative voice to counter ill -informed and frequently misleading criticism of the hobby. "
1981 was almost 40 years ago, where is that authoritative NCMD account that counters the criticism of the hobby? Did they produce a book, or maybe there is a website somewhere?  Where is it, and what actually have they been doing for the last 40 years? Because we have a 'counter' of our own, and it is pretty damning of this hobby of theirs.
