Undocumented Findspot from Commercial Treasure Hunt

     Coin Judith Johnson
Facebook

"Let's Go Digging" paying member Judith Johnson was on the latest Let's Go Digging artefact hunting Pay-to-Dig site trashing. She reports on the group's Facebook page
I have contacted the Oxfordshire FLO regarding my find
and the group's organiser Paul Howard replies:
Thank you Judith if you need anymore information just let me know
Judith Johnson's answer is quite shocking:
please can you private message me the farmers details and grid reference? Thanks
So, how is the precise position of the object in the field, on this site, in relation to the other finds made on the same site by other members of this event, recorded? Just by a grid reference to the farm itself? What kind of recording is that? If, as one might assmume, this is one of teh staters, how will it be established if this coin was part of the same concentration as the others? What kind of exploring the historical landscape is this if the individuals involved have no context, no background, because they have not teh foggiest idea where they were? Also why has the finder not got the landowner's name on the document assigning legal title to the items she removed from the property of that landowner? And teh Oxfordshire FLO did not ask her to show that document?
