The HA Counter 'proposes 8,000 detectorists each finding 0.69 recordable artefacts per week (far lower than all surveys suggest)', but somebody noticed that this single English detectorists' Facebook page alone has over ten thousand members.... one may presume that many of them are English detectorists and that not all English detectorists are on this particular Facebook page. HA suggest that the rate at which their counter ticks over is far from being a cautious estimate of the current finds rate but looks like a gross underestimate, at a time when PAS finds recording rate is dropping in comparison to the real number of metal artefacts being hoiked and pocketed.

The HA Erosion Counter is wrong!
