Saturday started off with a post by Heritage Action about a UK "detectorist" who reckons he can threaten the British archaeological trust, Rescue. It ends with me once again being personally threatened by a UK "detectorist". This happens on a fairly regular basis. Not from coin collectors, lobbyists, dealers, just UK metal detectorists. There are some British archaeologists who seem to think artefact hunting and collecting metal detectorists are nice blokes. I do not see it that way at all.
