Anti-Conservation: eBay Out of Control

A reader has sent me this as just another example of how online auction sites in open view are less than squeaky clean and apparently doing little to rectify the issue, shame on them: Elephant tusk ivory sold on eBay a decade after self-imposed ban - BBC News. It seems euphemisms rule there, with "bovine bone" being the equivalent of the antiquities seller's "decorative antiques". When the issue with ivory is so well known, and (one would have thought where there were clear public concerns), and so little appears to be done, what chance is there that we will see action on any of the dodgy antiquities sales and antiqui-scams that eBay is so notorious for?
