UK's Public Spirited Detectorists Galore

I guess that the number of responsible metal detectorists there are supposed to be in the UK means that PC Andy Long got the information several hours ago from public-spirited tekkies about the identity of this man seen being abusive when asked to leave the field he was in with his metal detector and spade. Perhaps the PAS FLO recognises him? How remiss of PC Long not to thank all the dozens of Britain's 16000 detectorists who contacted him immediately giving contact details to this individual. or perhaps.... naaahh... Surely not?

One "Peter", apparently a tekkie, volunteers "the video was not well received on many metal detecting forums , and the actions of the the [....]  trespasser were condemned , and rightly so….", but NOBODY has come forward to tell PC Long who that cocky field invader is. It would seem that (when it is just words), metal detectorists are quick to pay lip service to the notion of preventing illegal artefact hunting, but less quick to shop one of their own. And they call that "responsibility".
