Continuing the search for "Syrian antiquities", I also found this being sold by eBay seller smardomilitaria (7121) from Citrus Heights, California, United States: 'Ancient Holy Land Relics From Roman Baths at Hammat Gader Israel / Syria' bidding ends in 4d 22h (Thursday) Starting bid US $65.00
Collection of Holy Land relics recovered from the ancient Roman Baths at Hammet Gader Israel/Syria. Construction of the bath complex began in the second century by the 10th Roman Legion which was garrisoned in the city of Gadara. There is plenty of information available online about this ancient site and it's history. Included are six (6) pieces of pottery, a small piece of marble floor tile and a small piece of marble column which measures 5' long x 3".Hamat Gader is a hot springs site in the Yarmouk River valley, used since the classical antiquity. There was a Palestinian village here until 1949, it was in the demilitarized zone between Israel and Syria from 1949 to 1967. After the Six-Day War in 1967, the site came under Israeli control. One of the sherds is marked with what would be intended to be taken as the date it was collected, march 1988 when the site was a tourist resort. How did this material reach the US?
