David Accepts his Award

.
Professor David Gill was wondering aloud what kind of acceptance speech he was expected to make at the AIA meeting in Philidelphia where he got the Archaeological Institute of America's Outstanding Public Service Award.. Fortunately he did not accept the model I proposed to him and made a slightly more ambitious effort. I am not sure it was too tactful to cite all those US museums being caught with their trousers ("pants" over there) down with dodgy stuff on their hands, but the end justified the means:
Does Looting Matter? Yes, as it threatens the finite archaeological record, and it undermines our ability to interpret the past.
Congratulations David.
