Dan Bean, '£50k fight to save Viking treasure', York Press: Wednesday 8th January 2014:
A Bid to raise £50,000 to keep Viking treasure in North Yorkshire has been launched today.
But the Bedale Hoard has already been there more or less 1112 years, so what's changed? What is it being 'saved' from? Funnily enough, the newsaper fails to spell that side of the story out.

"What is it being 'saved' from?"
Err, just a wild guess but is it to prevent a deeply ethical history lover who has never owned it for even a moment and never will from flogging it for his own benefit?
Or is that preposterous?
