"Currencies between Cultures" Conference

The University of Warwick has announced an interdisciplinary conference entitled "Currencies between Cultures" to be held July 3, 2014.

 Though money is often characterised as an impersonal medium of exchange, it remains intricately connected to cultural value systems, social relationships, and political regimes [...] money goes ‘between’ cultures, and as a medium at the point of contact, money can often become ideologically charged.

More information can be found here. This is a timely announcement, the coin collecting lobbyists working for the ancient coin trade appear keen to debate the topic of ancient coin circulation. It would be interesting to see them attend and discuss their views with academic numismatists. Maybe the ACCG can send one of their "professional numismatists"?
