The survey of information on movable antiquities and treasures housed by more than 20,000 Chinese government agencies, institutions, state-owned companies and the military will be finished by the end of 2016, the National Bureau of Cultural Relics announced on Tuesday. It is the first time the country is conducting a complete set of surveys on the estimated 100 million relics to build an information database and upgraded management system, said Song Xinchao, deputy director-general of the National Bureau of Cultural Relics [...] An online platform, upon which all catalogued artifacts will be displayed, will be open to the public once the project is completed, added Song.
