Issue 33 - Portable Antiquities: archaeology, collecting, metal detecting
Edited by Stuart Campbell and Suzie Thomas
This is loosely based on the March 2010 Newcastle conference, titled 'Portable Antiquities: Archaeology, Collecting, Metal Detecting'. There is much food for thought here and material for discussion and its editors are to be congratulated for the results of their hard work appearing online. Sadly the majority of it is hidden behind a paywall, preventing the general public - the disposition of whose heritage is being discussed here - from accessing the discussion and engaging with it. This will only be fully possible when the paywall is lifted many years from now and the articles become less topical at the same time as they become open access. By which time, it may well be too late.
