The End of Time Team

Now when  Time team is finished (#timeteam) and everyone is talking about how much it did for public awareness about archaeology, how do we build on that for the future in a way that will benefit the discipline? One thing seems certain to me, it is not through plugging hobbyist Treasure Hunting and artefact collecting. Surely the message of TT was that the digging up of 'things' is an end to a means, not the object of archaeology.  Outreach of the "Britain's Secret Treasures 2" nature is the last thing we need right now (or ever).
