Timely mention of Thirty-year old problem by ACCP (now MOU in Pipeline)

Turkey has submitted a request to the US for an MOU under Article 9 of the 1970 UNESCO Convention (Notice of Receipt of Request From the Government of the Republic of Turkey Under Article 9 of the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property ) so the luddites at the American  Committee for Cultural Policy is currently running a story on the Ilisu Dam. This one of the 22 dams of the Southeastern Anatolia Project begun in 1989 to improve living conditions in the area. The dam aims to provide water for irrigation and carbon-free energy production, flood control and water storage.
