Right and Merely Legal

Making decisions
It is that old legalistic versus moralistic artefact hunting/collecting issue again, if it is legal it must be "right". Well, no I disagree:
Jessica Dietzler @JessicaDietzler: "Illegal 'nighthawkers' damage Hadrian's Wall http://fw.to/65Wh3lS Not a good look for metal detectorists trying to do things the right way"
Paul Barford ‏@PortantIssues: "Is there in general a "right way" to dig up artefacts from archaeol sites for private collection? I doubt it."
Jessica Dietzler: "The point, Paul, is that there are people out there who *do* abide by the laws that seek to govern them".
Paul Barford: "Of course there are, but that was not the point being made".
In any case the proper English term is 'nighthawks' - hawks swoop down on a prey, hawkers sell something.
