"Roman" Coins from Where the Cheese Comes From
British public outreach at its very best, Roman coin hoards explained really well:
"The Cheshire Hoards were reported to archaeologists through the Portable Antiquities Scheme and declared treasure". The finders apparently could not find the Coroner's phone number, perhaps they were looking under "K". Hoards are reported to the Crown by English law, not "archaeologists" (though the next king and his brother studied archaeology).
