Yes, but I think the picture (from http://getasword.com/blog/569-battle-of-grunwald-1410-600-anniversary/) says it all, each of those boundary shifts involved the deaths of thousands of individuals fighting on both 'sides'. Tragic.
all wars are tragic but unfortunately sometimes necessary.
