Sicilian Antiquities at Cleveland Museum of Art After All

Steven Litt, 'The show is back on: Sicily reverses its cancellation of antiquities exhibition at the Cleveland Museum of Art', The Plain Dealer August 22, 2013

It has been announced that the exhibition at the Cleveland Museum of Art of ancient treasures from Sicily that was cancelled last month is back on. The Sicilian cultural authorities have rescinded the cancellation and will allow the show to go on without attaching extra loan fees, as they had proposed in July. In exchange, the Cleveland museum has promised to send to Sicily an exhibition of masterpieces from its own collection in 2015. David Franklin, director of the Cleveland museum said the museum now hopes to work out a memorandum of understanding with Sicily that will frame future cultural exchanges. The exhibition will open as originally scheduled on Sunday, Sept. 29.
