"This is how it happened" says raconteur Zahi Hawass 'The Egyptian Museum and the Looters'. I think his new account is rather a mythologised view, and should be compared with certain other information (including on Hawass's own blog at the time). An interesting read nevertheless. Spot what it does not say.
Two points of interest, the emphasis on how "only Zahi Hawass" can save the museum, and the emphasis placed on his continued support for the Youth of the 2011 Revolution - odd in the existing political climate.
