New BM Director Appointed

German art historian, Hartwig Fischer, to become first foreign director of the British Museum. Like Martin Roth director of the Victoria and Albert Museum, he comes to the London post from Dresden. Let is see what his approach to metal detecting will be (it is illegal around Dresden). Also should be fun to get him to say a few words about the "Leutwitz (near Dresden) Apollo" now in Cleveland, USA.
