Collector Loses Artefacts in Greece

A 62-year-old man in Grevena, northern Greece, was arrested on Thursday for the illegal possession of archaeological artifacts in his home (. A police raid on the collector's home yielded a total of 184 items – including an axe, jewelry, coins, clay jars, arrowheads and others – dated to the Late Bronze Age as well as the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. Local authorities are investigating how the man came into possession of the items. Coins were among the looted artefacts.
