Focus on Metal Detecting: The remedy for worm-sinkage, Deepseeking SiteWreckers!

Metal detectorist "PeeBee" obviously has not heard of the Code of Practice for Responsible Detecting (Re: Totally silent field !!, Sun Oct 06, 2013 3:19 p):

I had a chat with the farmer this morning and asked if he could remember when these four fields were last ploughed. He's in his late 60s and they haven't been ploughed in his lifetime and they were his father's fields before him and he reckons they probably weren't ploughed in his father's lifetime either. So the soil in these fields proably hasn't been disturbed for at least 100 years and maybe more which may explian why they're so quiet. I'll have a quick look in the other three fields but with no great expectations that they'll be any different.
Still, get one of those deepseeking SiteWrecker machines and you'd soon be hoiking the stuff out.

UPDATE 11th October 2013:
Well, what a surprise, the thread about detectorists detecting on old pasture has been moved/deleted...
"Never happened, no breach of Code of Practice", eh?
