George Clooney's 'The Monuments Men' pushed to 2014
The World War II art recovery drama directed and co-written by star George Clooney and also starring Matt Damon and Bill Murray, won't open Dec. 18. [...] The tale of a ragtag band of art historians, museum curators and academics racing to rescue paintings and sculptures looted by the Nazis [...] now will be released by Sony Pictures early next year.So we will have to wait a few more months to see how this is treated, will it acknowledge that there was not one lone team working away but others risking their freedom and lives to attempt the same thing both during combat and behind enemy lines (in occupied Poland for example) or will we get the usual feelgood dumbed-down Hollywood pap that "America, all alone, saved the world again"?
