Focus on UK Metal Detectorism: ASB and Death Threats

Andy Baines says he's been receiving death threats for writing about "responsible metal detecting". That reminds me of a number of other similar situations chronicled on this blog where UK metal detectorists have been reported as threatening each other, or have threatened those writing about the issues surrounding the collecting of dugup antiquities, and in one case a detectorist even reports being threatened by archaeologists:

Do collectors of other types of objects (postage stamps, phone cards, beermats, My Little Pony) carry on like this?

TAKE A GOOD LOOK at this behaviour, for these are precisely the sort of people the PAS wants to grab more and more millions of public quid to make into the "partners" of the British Museum, archaeological heritage professionals and to whom they want us all to entrust the exploitation of the archaeological record. Take a good look and decide what you think about that as a "policy".
