There are rumours that in an upsoming Egyptian cabinet shakeup by President Morsi, Mohammed Ibrahim is to be replaced as Minster of Antiquities by a candidate promoted by the Muslim Brotherhood (the name Nagi Mikael has been suggested). Mr Ibrahim has only been in office a few months, has established some new posts for young Egyptian archaeologists, but depite the increase in size of SCA has not managed to protect all sites from encroachment, and what is more did not manage to recover a single one of the objects looted from the Egyptian Museum on 28th January 2011. What a mess.
