Bloomsbury Countdown

630,822 records within 998,670 objects, Bloomsbury say they are close to a "million" pieces of information about the collector-hoiked past. What is this "information" really about? It's not archaeology, it is not mitigating the erosive damage to a finite and fragile resource, and since it is selective, it is not even fully documenting collecting patterns and habits.  Instead of yammering only about "the numbers", perhaps Bloomsbury could interact more with wider concerns.
