Pakistan's million dollar archaeological smugglers

.
The NYDailyNews has an Agence France Presse article: 'Pakistan's million dollar archaeological smugglers' giving the background to the appearance of many knocked-off and dugup bits of "ancient art" on foreign markets:
Pakistani law forbids anyone from moving or selling any archaeological artifacts -- statues, gold coins, jewellery or utensils -- even if they are unearthed on their own property. But smugglers have made millions of dollars selling ancient artifacts, especially Gandhara period (530 BC to 1021 AD).
Worth a read.
