STOP British Heritage Management Going to the Dogs.

Statutory HERs and statutory Historic Environment Advice Services are the only way to prevent ongoing Local Authority losses.
I think they are mainly concerned here with job "losses" rather than just heritage losses, but while they are at it, please make the statutory maintenance of a strong, adequately resourced Portable Antiquities Scheme and reform of the Treasure Act part of the package (not to protect jobs, but as a heritage management measure). Of course that would mean British archaeologists getting off their butts and actually saying loudly at every opportunity what is wrong with the system, and why it's bad, and getting informed public support behind them. Are they capable of that any more?
